I had made a mistake the other day so after booting the phone, I had chosen the "boot.img" that was on the root.zip so I went back to simpleroot to try and choose a different boot.img but to my surprise there were no boot.imgs left, and it seemed like all the boot.imgs on the simpleroot had been deleted. So I had to go back to step 6 and just download the boot.img from the root.zip again
